welcome!

let's see if AI could come up with THIS nonsense.

here we go

I’ve gotten more into reading newsletters since social media has become increasingly unpleasant. And since Twitter imploded and I’m not regularly writing for any publications, I wanted to create my own little cozy space for sharing stuff.

Get ready with your cutest mug of coffee and snuggliest cat.

1. why “Interrobang”?

An interrobang is that ?! punctuation mark. If you didn’t know it had a name, now you do!

Interrobang is one of my favorite words and concepts, but it also fits the vibe. I want to ask questions that are exciting and interesting (to me!) and I want to have a place to funnel my curiosity or whatever. It’s a broad premise on purpose — but I hope that means the topics will be surprising and delightful.

2. who am I?

I’m your friendly neighborhood Design Researcher. To make my living, I’m usually helping clients strategize how to make their products and services better. When I’m not working, which is as often as possible, I might be traveling or playing video games or reading books or appreciating trees.

Oh, I’m a Cognitive and Behavioral Psychologist too, and that basically shapes how I think about everything.

3. what is this thing?

This newsletter is a place to consider aspects of everyday design and how it impacts us. “Design” to me refers to anything that is thoughtfully constructed — whether that’s the things we use, the space around us, or the life we live.

And although there are plenty of design trends and fails to criticize or snark about, I want to focus on positive spins. (I mean, I’ll try. Snark is fun too.)
